On April 25, 2016, construction began on Rocky Mountain College’s Herb Klindt Field. The improvements to the field are part of RMC’s impACT Today, Transform Tomorrow capital campaign, which includes an estimated $2 million in improvements to the Herb Klindt Field and stadium, and $15 million to build a new science facility and renovate the existing building. The first phase of the football field enhancements are scheduled to be completed by the time the Battlin’ Bears hit the field in August 2016. This phase consists of stabilizing the bowl by repairing the east side of the bleachers and regrading the north entrance; replacing the field with artificial FieldTurf; and adding stadium lights. Phase two of the project will include expanding the existing press box, building a new east side concession stand and restrooms, and adding iron and stone fencing. The start date for phase two has not yet been determined. There are still a number of naming opportunities available for the stadium, the field player entrance, lights, and visitors’ seating.
