Steve McMorris

Steve McMorris joined Rocky Mountain College as an assistant track and field coach in 2017. He currently coaches sprints, jumps, relays, and pole vault.

McMorris’ coaching career started in the early 90’s at Billings Central Catholic High School in Billings, Mont. He helped lead the Rams to four state track and field titles in nine years. He assumed control of the track and field program at Huntley Project High School in 2002 where he won Class B Head Coach of the Year and a girl’s state title. McMorris joined the Billings West track team in 2005 and was part of two more additional state titles as a pole vault coach.

A 1989 graduate of Laurel High School, McMorris, a decorated pole vaulter and sprinter, won four state titles and set a Class A State record as Locomotive. He graduated with a triple major in education fields from the University of Montana Western

Returning to Montana after spending 11 years coaching and teaching in Nevada, McMorris lives with his wife, Autumn, and their 7-year-old son, Lincoln Jack McMorris.
