Coach Yang Yang graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2015. While playing for the Battlin' Bears, Coach Yang was an All-American twice; Player of the Year for the Northwest Region; Frontier Conference Player of the Year;Â Frontier Conference Regular Season Champions (2014); Frontier Conference Tournament Champions (2013,2014). She also won a conference championship at North Idaho College (2011). Yang also racked up over 1,000 career kills in just her two years at Rocky.
Coach Yang served as an assistant coach under Laurie Kelly for the previous four years. She was selected Frontier Conference Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2018. She was selected as head coach of the Battlin' Bears in February of 2019. Since taking over the program, Coach Yang has coached two All-Americans (Natalie Hilderman, Ayla Embry); coached the Frontier Conference Setter of the Year twice (Natalie Hilderman); and coached the Frontier Conference Libero of the Year (Ayla Embry).
