Rocky Returns Home to Face Carroll in Annual Paint the Bowl Pink Game

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Rocky Mountain College football team is back at Herb Klindt Field on Saturday when they host Carroll College at 1 p.m. The game is the annual Paint the Bowl Pink contest where fans are encouraged to wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness. There will also be the third annual Battlin' Bears Toddler Race during halftime.
 
SWX will broadcast Saturday's game live from the Rocky Bowl. SWX is available on Charter 503 and over-the-air on 8.2. The game will also be streamed on the Rocky You Tube channel and be carried live on ESPN Billings 910 AM.
 
The Battlin' Bears are 4-3 overall on the season and 4-2 in Frontier Conference games. Rocky is currently third in the conference, two games behind conference leader Southern Oregon. Rocky received nine votes in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll to rank third among the other teams receiving votes. They have gone 2-1 at home this season and haven't won two straight games since early September.
 
The Battlin' Bears enter Saturday with a 3-3 overall record and at 3-2 in Frontier Conference play. They received seven points in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll to sit among the other teams receiving votes. Rocky is 1-2 on the road this season and has alternated wins and losses in each of the past four games.
 
Coming off 341 yards rushing last Saturday against MSU-Northern, Rocky leads the Frontier at 237.1 rushing yards per game. They are 14th in the NAIA with that average while ranking 12th with 1,660 total rushing yards. The offense accounts for 187.0 yards per game through the air and they are third in the conference at 424.1 total yards per game and 33.4 points per game.
 
On the defensive side, Rocky is allowing a Frontier-best 128.1 rushing yards per game and they are second in the conference in allowing 372.3 total yards per game. The opposition throws for 244.1 yards per outing and the Battlin' Bears lead the conference in giving up 21.4 points per game. They are 16th in the NAIA is scoring defense and 19th in rushing defense.
 
The Battlin' Bears are tied for second in the NAIA with 20 gained turnovers to help to a plus-6 turnover margin. They are third in the country in 4th-down conversions at 80.0 percent and rank 13th at 23.0 yards per kickoff return and 40.0 yards per punt.
 
Rocky and Carroll have played 27 times since 2004 with the Fighting Saints going 23-4 in those games. All four Rocky wins have come in the past 10 outings over the last five years. The Battlin' Bears haven't swept the season meetings during that time and they are 3-10 in Billings. Rocky won in Helena on September 9, 40-14, for the team's first-ever win in Nelson Stadium.
