BILLINGS, Mont. – The Rocky Mountain College football team will travel to Butte on Saturday for a game against No. 11 Montana Tech. Rocky will be looking to bounce-back from home loss to Carroll last Saturday when the game at Alumni Coliseum begins at 1 p.m.

The Battlin' Bears head to the road at 4-4 overall this season and 4-3 in Frontier Conference games. They are tied with Montana Western for third in the conference standings with three game remaining. Rocky has alternated wins and losses in each of the past six games and they are 2-2 on the road.
Rocky enters the week averaging 214.1 rushing yards per game to rank second in the Frontier and 15th in the NAIA. They are throwing for 180.6 yards per game to average 394.8 total yards per game. They are 40th in the NAIA and third in the conference by scoring 29.6 points per game. The offense has 160 first downs on the year to average 20.0 per game.
Defensively, the Battlin' Bears lead the conference in total defense by holding opponents to 358.0 yards per game. That places the team 28th in the NAIA and they place 14th in the country in allowing 20.8 points per game. Rocky is allowing 223.4 passing yards and 134.6 rushing yards per game with a passer efficiency rating of 123.7 to rank 42nd in the NAIA.
Rocky is tied for fifth in the NAIA with 20 takeaways this season and they are plus-5 in turnover margin. They have 13 interceptions – tied for sixth in the nation – and they have recovered seven opponent fumbles. Rocky is 12th in the nation by averaging 23.2 yards per kickoff return and 27th in averaging 37.7 yards per punt.
The Battlin' Bears have played Montana Tech 22 times since 2004 with a 4-18 record in those meetings. Rocky is 2-9 in Butte during that time frame and they have lost four straight in the series. Tech defeated Rocky 34-28 on September 16 at Herb Klindt Field.
