COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The Rocky Mountain College women's basketball team returned to action on Saturday night by dominating Walla Walla, 96-27, at Windemuth Court.
Rocky moves to 4-0 on the season with the road victory.
The Battlin' Bears got off to a fast start by outscoring Walla Walla (2-2) 17-3 in the first quarter. The lead was 43-21 at halftime and then Rocky held the Wolves to just six points in the second half and none in the third quarter.
In total, Rocky scored 46 straight points during a span that last just over 15 minutes of game action.
Rocky finished the game shooting 53.0 percent from the field while hitting on 20 of 41 from beyond the arc. The 20 made threes are the most in a game by a Rocky team during the last 15 seasons that records are available.
Six players scored in double figures for the Battlin' Bears.
Justyn Juhl led the way with 17 points on 5 of 9 from deep.
Alexi Smith also had five treys to finish with 15 points.
Eboney Jackson had 12 points and 11 rebounds for her second career double-double.
Hailee Farstveet finished with 11 points, five assists and two steals.
Kiana Corpus scored 12 points and
Brooke Jones added 10.
The Battlin' Bears held a 54-24 advantage in rebounds and they totaled 22 assists and only 11 turnovers. They held Walla Walla to 18.4 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers.
Sarah Halversen led the Wolves with eight points.
The two teams will play again on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT.
