DICKINSON, N.D. – The Rocky Mountain College women's basketball team put together a solid night at the defensive end as they cruised to a 70-38 win at Dickinson State on Thursday night.

Rocky held Dickinson to only 10 baskets and 22.2 percent shooting as they improved to 3-0 on the season. The Battlin' Bears took control of the game in a second quarter in which they outscored the home team 17-5.

Brooke Jones and
Mikayla Jones each scored 12 points to lead Rocky.
Mikayla Jones hit 4 of 8 shots with all coming from beyond the arc.
Brooke Jones added a team-best seven rebounds to her 6 of 8 shooting performance.

The Battlin' Bears shot 45.2 percent from the field and had nine makes from beyond the arc. They assisted on 17 of their 28 made baskets and had 16 turnovers. Rocky had a 39-32 edge on the boards with 15 rebounds coming at the offensive end.

Markaele Francis and
Hailee Farstveet added nine points apiece for Rocky.

Dickinson was led by seven points from Karen Hopkins.

Rocky will return to action on Friday afternoon when they face Minot State at 1 p.m.
