SIOUX CITY, Iowa. –  Fresh off two sweeps of their own, the the No. 9 ranked Battlin' Bears were swept themselves in championship pool play by the No. 8 ranked Red Raiders.

The Battlin' Bear had previously beaten Northwestern in August during the regular season, but were unable to put together enough offensive firepower Thursday evening to keep pace with the Red Raiders.

Monique Rodriguez led the Battlin' Bears with five kills. Natalie Hilderman orchestrated 19 assists.

Despite the loss, Rocky will be one of the sixteen teams to advance to bracket play tomorrow. They will face off against No. 10 ranked Southern Oregon at 1:30 CST / 12:30 MST.
