SPRINGFIELD, Ore., November 8, 2018 – Rocky Mountain College's women's soccer team ended their season with a loss against Eastern Oregon in the Cascade Collegiate Conference's Tournament Semi-Finals.
Having lost to Eastern Oregon 0-1 in the regular season, the No. 7 seeded Battlin' Bears were once again unable to defeat the No. 1 seeded Mountaineers.
Rocky was unable to find the back of the net throughout the match. Rocky's
Maia Wetzel pulled in seven saves with only one goal allowed.
The Mountaineers held a 16-7 shot advantage. Rocky was unable to make the most of limited offensive opportunities as they managed only two shots on goal to Eastern Oregon's eight.
The Mountaineers scored the only goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 36th minute.
Eastern Oregon had already secured a trip to the 2018 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship due to their performance during the regular season. Regardless of the score in the Cascade Conference Tournament Final, Northwest will secure an automatic bid as a result.
