Ashland, Ore., – The Battlin' Bears were unable to overcome a late Raiders' goal in a 1-0 loss in the season opener of Cascade Conference play

The Battlin' Bears (4-2, 0-1 CCC) kept it close with the Raiders (3-1-1, 1-0 CCC) through most of the match. Rocky was just unable to find an opportunity to score.
It was not until the 77th minute that Southern Oregon's Misty Martinez took a ball off of Brionna Wood and scored the match's only goal 1-1 against the goalkeeper.
The Battlin' Bears could only watch as the match slipped away.
Rocky had an 11-8 shot advantage over the Raiders, but just were unable to find the back of the net throughout the entire match.

Maia Wetzel secured five saves with only one goal allowed.
