BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Rocky Mountain College women's volleyball team finished play at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic by adding another two wins.
The Battlin' Bears started the day by downing Morningside in three sets and adding their seventh sweep of the season. The Mustangs had no answer for the Battlin' Bears relentless attack.
Both
Hailey Copinga and
Olivia L'Ami had 11 kills.
Miranda Gallagher added 10 of her own.
Natalie Hilderman contributed 36 assists and 17 digs.
Rocky finished the day with a match against tournament host Bellevue, who matched the Battlin' Bears step for step, but ultimately came up short.
Rocky took the first two sets, but Bellevue was able to snatch up the third and fourth sets. The Battlin' Bears managed to claw back up and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with a 15-13 win in the fifth set.
Daniella Russell led the Battlin' Bears with 11 kills.
Hailey Copinga and
Olivia L'Ami both added 10 kills of their own.
Natalie Hilderman contributed 36 assists.
Ruby Kallenbach had 26 digs.
The Battlin' Bears streak now sits at 10 consecutive wins in a row. They will return home and play their next match against Alaska Anchorage on September 13 at 7 p.m. in the Fortin Education Center.
