DILLON, Mont. – The Battlin' Bears defeated the Montana Western Bulldogs 91-68 Thursday night.
The Battlin' Bears trailed early as the Bulldogs shot ahead to a 10 point lead early in the first half. A steady, accurate offense allowed the Battlin' Bears to climb back and reclaim the lead shortly behalf the half. From there on out, Rocky stayed in control.
The Battlin' Bears drained 50 percent from the floor and beyond the arc. The Bulldogs landed 43.5 percent of their shots from the floor, but sank just 28.6 percent of their three pointers.
Samuelson, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Divsion 1 for total scoring, paved the way for Rocky with 29 points and eight rebounds.
Lukas Vining contributed 18 points while
Brandon The Boy posted an additional 10.
Craig Wilmore lead the ream in rebounds with 11. The Battlin' Bears held a 46-28 advantage in boards over the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs were led Cedric Boone who scored 16 points. Kooper Kidgell scored 14 points with seven rebounds.
Rocky will look to carry the momentum into Saturday when they face the Lewis-Clark Warriors at 5 p.m. in Lewiston, Idaho.
