Battlin' Bears knock off No. 16 ranked Warriors

LEWISTON, Idaho., –  The No. 22 ranked Battlin' Bears ended their weekend on the road with a 68-58 upset of the the No. 16 ranked Lewis-Clark Warriors.

The Battlin' Bears (13-5, 4-2 FC) led from tip to buzzer behind 19 point performances from Kloie Thatcher and Alecia Chamberlin. The duo each notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the team in both categories. Thatcher contributed an additional five assists.

Lewis-Clark (13-4, 3-3 FC) was able to draw the game to five points within the final minute, but a series of four final free throws by Antuanisha Wright kept the game firmly out of reach.

Rocky shot 42.9 percent from the field. It was from beyond the arc that Rocky was able to gain the advantage as the Battlin' Bears drained 35 percent of their three pointers. The Warriors were only able to land 6.3 percent. From the free throw line, Rocky was good for 75.8 percent.

Both teams pulled in 38 boards apiece.

Lewis-Clark's Delaney Henery scored 14 points while Jossilyn Blackman contributed an additional 13 points and five rebounds. 

The Battlin' Bears will return home for a rematch against the No 8 ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints. The game will take place on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. as part of Rocky Mountain College's Military Appreciation Event.
