BILLINGS, Mont. – Rocky Mountain College scored four goals in the second period to vault ahead of the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers in a 4-1 win Friday afternoon.
The Mountaineers' Elvis Pavon scored just 42 seconds into the game with an assist from Jorge Chavez. Despite Rocky holding a 6-4 shot advantage, Eastern Oregon held onto the lead through the first period.
Coming out of the half, Rocky's offense caught fire.The momentum quickly shifted as Rocky's
Nolan Sherwood tied the game in the 47th minute with an assist from
Pablo Ferreira. Within 30 seconds the Battlin' Bears were holding the lead as Ferreira nearly immediately scored a goal of his own off a pass from
Rodrigo Goncalves.
Rocky kept the pressure on Eastern Oregon.
Quique Garcia knocked in a goal in the 50th minute off an assist from Ferreira.
Sky Swenson scored the game's final goal in the 78th minute unassisted.
Ferreira finished the game with a goal and two assists.
The Battlin' Bears held a 15-11 shot advantage and led 5-3 in corner kicks.
Rocky will host their final home game of the 2019 regular season on Sunday against College of Idaho.
