GREAT FALLS, Mont. – With less than two minutes left in the match, Rocky Mountain College's
Nolan Sherwood kicked in the game-winning goal to push the Battlin' Bears past the University of Providence Argos 2-1.
In the 31st minute. Swenson dribbled through six Argos and booted the ball past Providence's Hernan Perez for the match's first goal.
Rocky led 1-0 until late in the match when the Argos' Alain Murhula scored the equalizing goal in the 79th minute.
Tied at 1-1 with less than two minutes left before overtime,
Nolan Sherwood took an assist from
Sam Davidson and powered in the game-winning goal past Perez. The goal counted as Sherwood's 13th goal of the season which currently ranks as most in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Rocky's goalkeeper
Kristofer Wennin recorded a single save with a single goal allowed while Perez had two goals allowed and three saves for Providence.
The Battlin' Bear held a 13-11 shot advantage and led 4-1 in corner kicks.
Rocky Mountain College will next travel to Carroll College for a match on Sunday.
