BILLINGS, Mont. –  Bouncing back from a slow first half, Rocky Mountain College secured a 65-35 victory over the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions in their home opener at the Shrine Auditorium.

Struggling to find the basket through the first two periods, the Battlin' Bears (2-1, 0-0 Frontier) trailed the Centurions 23-20 heading into halftime. After the half, Rocky caught fire on a 22-2 run through the entirety of the third period and never looked back.

Landing just 2-of-28 from beyond the arc, Rocky struggled to find the basket from deep during the entire night. The Battlin' Bears finished with a 32.9 field goal percentage. In comparison, Yellowstone Christian shot 22 percent from the floor and 19 percent from beyond the arc.

Recording her second double-double of the season through three games, Rocky's Markaela Francis recorded 22 total points and 21 rebounds to lead the Battlin' Bears in both categories. Mackenzie Dethman was the other Battlin' Bear to score in the double digits with 12 points and eight rebounds.
 

Yellowstone Christian College's MaShaya Alden led the Centurions with 13 points while Hanna Hayes recorded 12 points and a team-high six rebounds.

The Battlin' Bears will next play MSU-Billings game at the First Interstate Arena at MetraPark on November 6. The game will count as an exhibition for the Battlin' Bears.
