GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Rocky Mountain College remained unbeaten in the Frontier Conference with a sweep of the No. 20 ranked University of Providence Argos.
The Battlin' Bears took the first two sets in 25-23 and 25-21, but the Argos wouldn't go down without a fight. Providence led by as much as seven in the third set, but Rocky battled back to tie the game at 26-26. A kill from Rocky's
Monique Rodriguez and a block from
Morgan Allen and
Natalie Hilderman sealed the game in the Battlin' Bears' favor at 28-26.
Rocky's scoring efforts were led by
Daniella Russell's 12 kills and 10 digs.
Miranda Gallagher knocked down an additional eight kills while Allen had six kills and four blocks.
Hilderman posted 32 assists while
Annie Cooke led the team with 23 digs.
Providence's Kelsey Shaver had 18 kills and 22 digs to lead the Argos in both categories. Renae Davis had 24 assists while Cydney Finberg-Roberts had 16 assists and 12 digs.
Rocky's record currently sits at 13-5 with 5 wins and 0 losses in the Frontier Conference. The Battlin' Bears will stay on the road with a match against MSU-Northern in Havre, Montana tomorrow at 7 p.m.
