ORANGE BEACH, Ala., December 3, 2019 – Rocky Mountain College's women's soccer team's historic season came to a close Tuesday with a 4-0 loss to the Keiser University Seahawks in the third round of the 2019 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship.

Rocky kept the No. 1 ranked team in the NAIA scoreless for nearly 20 minutes, but were ultimately unable to keep pace with a relentless Keiser offense. Keiser's Filippa Millqvist knocked in the match's first goal in the 25th minute followed by another point for the Seahawks by Larissa Weber in the 19th minute. Josefine Troneby assisted both goals. 

Down by two entering the half, the Battlin' Bears' offense struggled to find opportunities in the first period. Keiser held a 11-0 edge in shots through the first 45 minutes.

Rocky's Lauryn Gamache and Haley Nicholson managed to record three shots between the two of them in the second period, but none of them found the back of the net. Keiser's Nina Haeberlin pulled in a save while the other two went over the top of the net. 

Keiser's Alecia Drott added two goals within the last 12 minutes to extend Keiser's lead to 4 before the match's conclusion.

Recording another 11 shots in the second period, Keiser ended the match with 22-3 advantage in shots and an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Rocky's Maia Wetzel was credited with six saves on the day. She finishes the 2019 season with a school-record 14 shutouts in a season and a school-record 14 goalie wins. Her 96 saves in 2019 also counts as most by a Rocky goalkeeper in a single season in team history.

Gamache ends the season with 50 career goals, 23 career assists, and 123 total career points which counts as most in program history for all three categories.

The Battlin' Bears end the 2019 season with a 14-5-3 overall tying the program's record, set by the 2008 and 2012 teams, for most wins in a season.
