BILLINGS, Mont. – Avoiding a season sweep while snapping a three game losing streak, the Battlin' Bears defeated the No. 22 ranked University of Providence Argos 75-69.
Neither team was able to gain significant momentum on the night as the conference rivals paced each other for the majority of the game. The lead exchanged hands 14 separate times.
Jared Samuelson posted his sixth double double, the most in the Frontier Conference, with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Craig Wilmore scored 16 points with seven assists and six boards while
Clayton Ladine contributed 16 points and six assists of his own.
Rocky (17-10, 8-7 FC) shot 39.1 from the field and drained 40 percent of their threes. Providence (17-9, 8-7 FC) shot 46.7 percent, but were held to just 2-of-16 from beyond the arc.
The Battlin' Bears out-rebounded the Argos 43-33.
Providence was led by Jalen Shepard's 18 points. The pair of Jack Taylor and Austin Starr each scored 15 points apiece.
Rocky will stay at home to play MSU-Northern on Saturday in their final home game of the regular season. The action will begin at 7:30 p.m.
