BILLINGS, Mont., February 23, 2019 – Rocky Mountain College was unable to keep pace down the stretch with No. 7 ranked Carroll College in an 84-72 loss to wrap up the 2018-19 regular season.
The game tied at 58-58, the Saints (24-6, 13-5 FC) embarked on a 9-0 run midway through the second period to launch themselves ahead for the rest of the game. Defensively, the Battlin' Bears (19-11, 10-8 FC) could find no answers for Carroll's Match Burnham who scored 33 points with six rebounds and three assists.
Jared Samuelson posted his seventh double double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Rocky's
Clayton Ladine scored 17 points in the loss.
Rocky landed 42.6 percent of their field goals and drained 9-of-29 from beyond the arc. The Saints shot 56.6 from the field and 44.4 percent on three pointers.
Both teams pulled in 35 boards.
The Battlin' Bears finish the regular season with a No. 3 playoff seeding for the Frontier Conference playoffs. They will host the No. 6 seeded Montana Tech Orediggers in the quarterfinals on Feb. 27. in the Fortin Education Center.
