BILLINGS, Mont. – No. 24 ranked Rocky Mountain College was unable to come away with a win in a 55-43 loss to No. 8 ranked Carroll College at the end of the regular season.
Ahead of the Battlin' Bears (19-11, 10-8 FC) for a majority of the game, the Fighting Saints (22-7, 14-4 FC) built a comfortable double digit lead by the end of the third period.
Rocky was led by
Justyn Juhl's 16 points.
Marissa Van Atta contributed an additional eight.
Rocky shot 35.7 percent from the field and drained just 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Defensively, Rocky was able to hold the Saints to just 20 percent on three pointers.
The Battlin' Bears lost the rebound battle with the Saints holding a 28-23 advantage in boards. Both teams committed 17 turnovers.
Carroll's Hannah Dean led the Saints in the scoring column with 19 points and four rebounds.
The Battlin' Bears end the regular season a No. 3 playoff seeding for the Frontier Conference. They will host the No. 6 seeded MSU-Northern Skylights on Feb. 26. in the Fortin Education Center.
