BILLINGS, Mont. – Opening up conference play in their home opener, No. 25 ranked Rocky Mountain College soared to a 14-1 victory over the Multnomah University Lions.
Playing through a storm and wet field conditions, the Battlin' Bears' scoring frenzy started early when
Sam Davidson scored off an assist from
Marco Kummerle in the 6th minute.
Six Battlin' Bears found the back of the net by the end of the game. Rocky was led by
Pablo Ferreira's five goals which included two in the final two minutes.
Marco Kummerle ended the day with three goals and an assist.
Sam Davidson had two goals and an assist.
Sky Swenson,
Nolan Sherwood, and
Milo Downey each recorded a goal and an assist.
Multnomah's lone goal came in the 69th minute when Jason Monterosso booted a ball off of Rocky's outstretched
Ryan Cornwall into the back of the net.
The Battlin' Bears held a 44-1 shot advantage and a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Multnomah's Jose David Lopez ended the game with 14 goals allowed and 12 saves.
Rocky will next play Warner Pacific on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
