BUTTE, Mont. – Led by a 22-point and 10 rebound performance from Taylor England, Montana Tech defeated Rocky Mountain College 81-53 in Butte, Mont., on Thursday night.
Montana Tech started the game on a 9-2 run and held a lead over Rocky from tip to buzzer.The Battlin' Bears struggled to maintain possession of the ball throughout the entire game. Rocky had 22 turnovers as a team which combined together resulted in 27 total points for the Orediggers.
Clayton Ladine was the only Battlin' Bear to score in the double digits with 12 points and five rebounds.
Grant Wallace had an additional nine points.
England's 22 points and 10 boards was the night's only double double. Christian Jones had 11 points while Sindou Diallo dished out 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Rocky shot 38.8 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep. Montana Tech, in comparison, hit 50 percent and shot 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Montana Tech held a 36-31 edge in rebounds.
It is the fifth straight conference loss for the Battlin' Bears.
Rocky will next play No. 12 ranked Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho on Saturday.
