DILLON, Mont., November 13, 2021- Rocky started slow, but came alive in the second half. The Battlin' Bears fell 42 to 50. Both teams failed to score on their first tries in overtime. Montana Western's Jon Jund ran in for a score to start their second try. The Bulldogs completed a slant for the two point conversion. Rocky failed to score on their second try.
Nate Dick had 194 yards passing, 107 yards rushing, and four passing touchdowns. Vic Ngalamulume led the Battlin' Bears in rushing with 11 yards, and seven Bears had a reception.
Montana Western was led by Jon Jund with 328 yards passing, 70yards rushing, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. Reese Neville rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown.
The game was a tale of two halves. The Rocky team was out of rhythm in the first half, and could not find the end zone. The Rocky defense came up big with a pic to end the first half, and the offense carried that momentum into the second half. Rocky outscored the Bulldogs 42 to 21 in the second half. Rocky struggled in overtime with a few miscues that ended up being the difference in extra time.
Rocky Mountain College, Montana Western, and College of Idaho await the decision of the Frontier Conference on who wins the automatic bid.
