BILLINGS, Mont., December 4, 2021- The Battlin' Bears women started the game with an explosive first quarter of 22 points, but slowed down to finish the game 59 to 55. The Rocky win takes the team to 7-1, 2-0.
Rocky was led on offense by Kloie Thatcher, who had 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists. N' Dea Flye scored another double double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and five steals. Shauna Bribiescas added 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Montana Tech was led by Tavia Rooney with 14 points, and nine rebounds. Dani Urick added 11 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Rocky shot 37.7 percent from the field, 40 percent from deep, and 68.2 percent from the line. Tech shot 29.2 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from deep, and 80 percent from the line. Rocky had 14 points off of turnovers to Tech's six points, and the Battlin' Bears had 24 points in the paint to Tech's 22 points.
The Battlin' Bears travel to Dickinson, North Dakota to play the Blue Hawks of Dickinson State at 5 p.m. on Wednesday December 8.
