Rocky Volleyball Defensive Weekend

Rocky Mountain College volleyball started the weekend with a loss to Montana Tech Friday Morning, but responded to falling 0-2 to Carroll College by surging back to win in 5 sets. The Battlin' Bears finished with two losses against Montana Western and Providence.

Rocky struggled hitting the ball on the weekend, hitting -.039, .197, .152, and .107. The Battlin' Bears story of the conference preseason tournament, was defense. The Rocky women had 69, 132, 153, and 97 digs in each game respectively. The Battlin' Bears currently lead the nation in digs with 1362, and are second in digs per set with 20.03.
Ayla Embry led the team with 142 digs and an astonishing 8.35 digs per set. Ayla leads the nation in both of those categories. Embry is 65 digs ahead of the second-place woman. Embry also set a school record with 58 digs against Montana Western.
