Rocky Women Fall Despite Elite Scoring Performance

DILLON, Mont., January 29, 2022- The No. 18 Battlin' Bears were inconsistent scoring during the contest, and ultimately fell to Montana Western 73 to 70 in overtime. The Battlin' Bears fall to 20-3, 8-2 on the year.

Rocky was led on offense by N' Dea Flye, who had a game and career high 37 points, five rebounds, five assists, and six steals. Mackenzie Dethman added 11 points, seven rebounds, and one block. The Battlin' Bears shot 40 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from the arc, and 100 percent from the line.

N' Dea Flye reached 1,074 career points. Flye scored 192 points at University of New Mexico; 27 points at Butler University; 410 points at Northwest Kansas Technical College; and now 445 points at Rocky.

Shauna Bribiescas reached 1,130 career points. Bribiescas scored 870 points at Pima Community College, and she has scored 260 at Rocky.

Montana Western (14-8, 4-6) was led by Brynley Fitzgerald with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists. Natali Denning added 21 points and eight rebounds. Sydney Sheridan added 12 points. The Bulldogs shot 41.3 percent from the field, 38.7 percent from deep, and 60 percent from the charity stripe.

Rocky had 16 points off turnovers to the Bulldog's nine points. Rocky had 14 points in the paint to Western's 26 points. Montana Western had 14 second chance points, and Rocky had none.

The Battlin' Bears travel to Great Falls, Montana to take on the University of Providence, Argos at 5 p.m. on Thursday February 3.
