Rocky Volleyball Splits Four Matches in Grand View Tournament

BILLINGS, Mont., Oct 15, 2022- Rocky Volleyball traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to participate in the Grand View Tournament, losing both matches on Friday but securing two three set victories on Saturday.

Rocky began their weekend against No. 15 ranked Bellevue University, losing 0-3 (17-25, 26-28, 22-25). Bella Bryan had eight kills, Blythe Sealey had 27 assists, and Ayla Embry finished with 22 digs. 

Rocky's evening match went down to the wire, but the Battlin' Bears were unable to come out on top, losing in five sets to Judson University (25-23, 25-19, 21-25, 25-27, 15-10). Rocky hopped out to a two set lead, but Judson was able to take control of the match and eventually come out on top. Taylor Wolf and Rhiannon Nez each led the way with 15 kills a piece, Blythe Sealey finished with 53 assists, and Ayla Embry ended with 40 digs. 

The Battlin' Bears came back ready to play on Saturday, starting with a 3-0 victory over Mayville State (25-22, 25-12, 25-13). Bella Bryan led the charge with 10 kills, Blythe Sealey totalled 30 assists, and Ayla Embry finished with 15 digs in the victory. 

Rocky finished the day and the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Grand View University (25-18, 25-18, 25-13). Bella Bryan capped off a great day with 13 kills in the victory, Blythe Sealey tallied 29 assists, and Ayla Embry finished with 20 digs.

The Battlin' Bears (13-13, 4-1 conf.) will host MSU Billings on Tuesday for an exhibition match, before taking on MSU-Northern on Friday in Havre.
