SAN DIEGO, Calif. Nov. 11, 2022- Rocky Women's Basketball heads for warmer weather, as they take on San Diego Christian College and No. 19 Vanguard University in San Diego this weekend.
Recap from Last Week: The Battlin' Bears took on No. 22 ranked Lewis-Clark State College twice last weekend in Lewiston, falling in both games. While Lewis-Clark dominated in the first matchup, the second matchup was a back and forth affair that ended in double overtime. While the Battlin' Bears weren't able to pull out a win, senior Kloie Thatcher was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week for her performance in Lewiston, as she averaged 16 points, three assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Scouting the Hawks: San Diego Christian College (2-1) began their season with wins over Lincoln University and Bethesda, as well as a loss to Embry-Riddle and an exhibition loss to San Diego State. Through their first three games, the Hawks have been led by senior guard Haylie Anderson (19 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.7 spg), senior forward Jamee Joseph (13 ppg, 4 apg, 7.3 rpg) and senior guard Keren Hogue (15 ppg, 9 rpg, 3 apg).
The Hawks are coached by Anessa Wolfblack in her first season as head coach.

Scouting the Lions: Vanguard University (1-0) has begun the year with exhibitions against tough opponents in Stanford and Cal, but took a commanding 125-37 victory over Bethesda in their only match of record. The Lions are led by 2021 NAIA Third Team All-American center Melissa Akullu, who averaged 18.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per game last season.
Vanguard is coached by head coach Russ Davis in his 27th season.
