BILLINGS, Mont., February 12, 2022- The No. 15 Battlin' Bears faced No. 7 Carroll College for the third time today. Rocky rebounded poorly, and low second chance points lead to Carroll College winning 55 to 45. The Battlin' Bears are now 23-4, 11-3 on the year.
Rocky was led on offense by N' Dea Flye, who had 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Gracee Lekvold added 10 points and two rebounds. The Battlin' Bears shot 33.3 percent from the field, 23.8 percent from the arc, and 61.5 percent from the line.
Carroll College (23-5, 11-3) was led by Jamie Pickens with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist. Christine Denny also had 15 points and seven rebounds. Danielle Wagner contributed 11 points and four rebounds. The Saints shot 36.2 percent from the field, 9.1 percent from deep, and 57.9 percent from the charity stripe.
Rocky had three points off turnovers to the Saints' 10 points. Rocky had eight points in the paint to Carroll's 30 points.
There is now a three way tie atop the Frontier Conference. Rocky Mountain College has the tie breaker over both Carroll College and the University of Providence. Carroll and Providence play each other on Thursday for a share of the Frontier Conference Regular Season Championship. Rocky can clinch a share of the Regular Season Championship with a win against Montana Western on Thursday.
The Battlin' Bears host the Bulldogs, on First Interstate Bank Court in the Fortin Education Center at 5 p.m. on Thursday February 17. The game will be senior night for our graduating Battlin' Bears.
