BILLINGS, Mont., February 5, 2022- The Battlin' Bears started well, and were up by one going into the half. Rocky lost steam in the second half and No. 20 Montana Tech pulled ahead, to win 85 to 72. The Battlin' Bears are now 11-13, 4-8 on the year.
Rocky was led on offense by
Abdul Bah, who had 22 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Beau Santistevan added 14 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
Jesse Owens contributed 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists. The Battlin' Bears shot 38.7 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the arc, and 71.4 percent from the line.
Montana Tech (22-5, 11-1) was led by Sindou Diallo with 23 points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Derrius Collins added 15 points and four rebounds. Caleb Bellach contributed 14 points and four rebounds. The Orediggers shot 43.3 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from deep, and 76.7 percent from the line.
Rocky had six points off turnovers to the Oredigger's nine points. Rocky had 32 points in the paint to Tech's 28 points. The game was tied seven times.
The Battlin' Bears travel to MSU-Northern, to take on the Lights at 7 p.m. on Thursday February 10.
