Rocky Volleyball Win Both Matches in the Final Day of the Big Sky Challenge

BUTTE, Mont., Aug 20, 2022- Rocky Mountain College Volleyball continued their play in the Big Sky Challenge hosted by Montana Tech on Saturday. Rocky started the day off well with a 3-1 victory over Cornerstone University. The Battlin' Bears then completed a comeback victory against Northwest University, winning 3-2.

The Battlin' Bears took on Cornerstone University in the first matchup of the day in the Big Sky Challenge. Rocky was able to handle business as they took the first two sets 25-20 and 26-24. Cornerstone fought back to take the third set 23-25, but the Battlin' Bears closed things out in the fourth set 25-22 to take a 3-1 victory. Ayla Embry tallied 27 digs, Bella Bryan had 12 kills and 6 digs of her own, and Blythe Sealey had 45 assists and 14 digs. 

Rocky faced off against Northwest University in their evening match, in which Northwest took control early, taking the first two sets 17-25 and 21-25. The Battlin' Bears showed no quit as they rallied to win the final three sets 25-23, 25-22, and 15-10. Kyra Oakland led the way for Rocky with 17 kills, Blythe Sealey tallied 42 assists and 18 digs, and Ayla Embry totaled 24 digs.

The Battlin' Bears finish the Big Sky Challenge with a record of 3-1. Rocky (3-1) will return home Friday, August 26 to take on Dickinson State University in the Fortin Education Center for the first time in the 2022 season.
