The first 45 minutes was filled with stifling defense, as
Morgan Maack was responsible for the lone shot on goal in the first half for the Battlin' Bears.Â
The Eagles came out of the halftime break ready for action, as they found themselves on the board first with a goal by Ellie Neal (50:18) to take a 1-0 lead over Rocky. The Battlin' Bears found more opportunities in the second half, as
Laura Kellner had 2 shots on goal and
Morgan Maack had 2 more in the second half, but Rocky was unable to capitalize. Embry-Riddle would find the back of the net again, as Kari Kasun (80:02) scored to stretch the lead to 2-0, which would be the final score of the match.
Mila Allison tallied 3 saves for the game for Rocky, while
Morgan Maack led the Battlin' Bears with 3 shots on goals. The Battlin' Bears combined for 7 shots on goal during the match.Â
Ellie Neal and Kari Kasun each scored a goal for the Eagles, both of them scoring on their only shot on goal attempt. Embry-Riddle goalie Lucy Hayward only played in the second half of the match, but tallied 5 saves on 5 shots faced.Â
