Rocky Volleyball Falls to Top-25 Opponents in the Viterbo Tournament

LA CROSSE, Wis., Sept. 10, 2022- Rocky Mountain College Volleyball finished their play in the Viterbo Tournament against Top-25 opponents, dropping both matches. First against No. 18 Taylor University 0-3, and 0-3 to No. 9 Viterbo University Saturday afternoon.

The Battlin' Bears were overmatched by Taylor University to begin the day, losing 12-25, 18-25, 20-25. Taylor Wolf led the Battlin' Bears with 6 kills, Ayla Embry had 10 digs, and Blythe Sealey finished with 16 assists.

The Battlin' Bears then faced off against host No. 9 Viterbo University, where they again fell 0-3 (20-25, 18-25, 31-33). After falling in the first two sets, Rocky fought back into a competitive third set which finally resulted in a V-Hawks sweep. Ayla Embry finished with 25 digs, Rhiannon Nez tallied 8 kills, and Blythe Sealey posted 23 assists.

The Battlin' Bears (5-6) return home to host the Frontier Conference Pre-Season Tournament Presented by Erck Hotels starting on Thursday, September 15th. The Battlin' Bears will face off against Carroll College Thursday night at 7:00pm in the Fortin Education Center.
