Rocky Men’s Soccer Falls 4-3 to Bushnell Friday Afternoon

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Beacons came out on top of a high scoring affair on a snowy afternoon in Billings, as Rocky dropped their third straight match 4-3 Friday afternoon.

Bushnell scored back to back goals in the first 17 minutes of play, as Omar Barajas found both Javier Gutierrez and Francisco Cayolla for goals to give the Beacons an early 2-0 lead.

Lorenzo Klamler sent a long pass into the lap of Angel Mange, who quickly turned around and found Igor Soares for his 11th goal of the season to cut into the deficit.

Bushnell put one more goal on the board before the halftime break, as after he tallied two assists earlier, Barajas found the net for a goal of his own for the Beacons to take a 3-1 lead going into halftime.

Lorenzo Klamler was the first to score in the second half, breaking away from the pack, getting around a Beacons defender with two shifty moves to cut the Beacons lead down to one.

Bushnell continued to keep Rocky out of striking distance, as Jay Jay Van Der Veld found the net after a corner kick from Javier Gutierrez for the Beacons' fourth goal of the match.

Lorenzo Klamler scored his second goal of the match in the 87th minute after great ball movement left him open on the left side of the goal to score his second goal of the match and of the season, but that 4-3 deficit would hold through the final three minutes for Rocky's third consecutive loss.

The Battlin' Bears were narrowly outshot in the loss 12-11. Lorenzo Klamler and Igor Soares both tied for a match leading five shots a piece in the losing effort.

The Battlin' Bears (4-9-3, 2-9-1 conf.) will host Corban University on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm (MT) to celebrate Senior Day on Herb Klindt Field.
