Rocky Men’s Soccer Suffers First Loss of the Season 2-0 Against Carroll College

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears were unable to find the back of the net offensively in a 2-0 loss against Carroll College Sunday.

The Rocky men struggled to get the ball off of their side of the field in the first half, leading to multiple scoring opportunities for the Fighting Saints. They would eventually capitalize on these opportunities, as Carroll's Ishamel Navarro found Michael Mojzis inside the box for their first goal in the 33rd minute. Just five minutes later, Carroll's Enrico Paparelli would score on a free kick that would hook into the left side corner of the net to give Carroll the 2-0 lead they would hold through the remainder of the match.

The Battlin' Bears were narrowly outshot in the defeat 15-16 but Rocky was only able to get two of their shots on goal, compared to Carroll's seven.

Liam Pearce led the game with six shots on the day, while Stefan Schenk tallied five saves in the losing effort.

The Battlin' Bears (3-1-2, 1-1 conf.) will hit the road as they continue their conference schedule, facing off against Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho next weekend.
