Game Notes

On the Road
The Battlin' Bears will play away from home for the first time this season, competing in the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Classic, hosted by the College of Idaho.

Immediate Impact
Rocky started three newcomers over the weekend, including transfer Sydney Dethman and freshmen Paige Wasson and Isabelle Heggem. Those three combined for over half of Rocky's scoring output in their first two games of the season.

Control the Glass
Despite the pair of losses, the Battlin' Bears flexed their size in their early games, outrebounding their opponents by a margin of 3.5 overall, including 10.5 offensive rebounds per game. Five different Rocky players averaged two or more offensive rebounds per game to begin the season.

Scouting the Mountaineers
Eastern Oregon will play its first game of record against the Battlin' Bears on Friday afternoon. The Mountaineers have played in three exhibition games to begin the season, including a pair of NCAA DI opponents in Eastern Washington University and Boise State University and NCAA DIII opponent Whitman College. Eastern Oregon returns their leading scorer from a season ago, forward Brie Holecek, who averaged 15.8 points per game last season, leading EOU to a 21-8 record and a NAIA Opening Round appearance in 2023-24.

Scouting the Yotes
The Yotes enter the weekend following two exhibition matchups, one against NCAA DI Gonzaga University and the other against NCAA DII Northwest Nazarene. College of Idaho returns four of their five starters from a season ago in which they finished with a 10-19 overall record, falling in the first round of the CCC Tournament to LC State.
