Rocky Men’s Basketball Cruises to 87-59 Over Southern Alberta Institute of Technology

BILLINGS, Mont.- Fourteen Battlin' Bears tallied points in Rocky's fourth straight win and their second consecutive win of 20 or more points.

An early lead allowed Rocky's bench unit to play most of the second half, with no Battlin' Bear logging more than 25 minutes on the evening. The Battlin' Bear defense forced a season-high 21 turnovers, cashing in 30 points off of turnovers on the evening.

How it Happened

After both teams traded baskets throughout the start of the first half, it was the final eight-minute stretch of the first half that ultimately solidified the Rocky win, as the Battlin' Bears finished the half on a 34-8 run, fueled by a stretch of 13-18 shooting from the field, seven different players scoring, and six Trojan turnovers led to a 30 point lead at the halftime break. Jaylon Lee was the leader of the pack, totaling 14 points in the first half to complement seven total Battlin' Bears who scored five or more points in the opening half.

The Rocky starters began the second half and continued to pile onto the lead, turning in a 10-4 run to extend the lead. With the score heavily in the Battlin' Bears favor, the Fortin Education Center crowd saw 14 different Battlin' Bears check into the game into the second half, who held the lead throughout and allowed Rocky to cruise to another dominant victory in their non-conference schedule.
