Rocky Volleyball Battles to Four-Set Defeat to No. 7-ranked Bellevue University

BILLINGS, Mont. - Rocky Volleyball grabbed an early lead with a first-set victory, but the seventh-ranked Bruins stormed back to hand the Battlin' Bears a four-set loss at home.

How It Happened

It was Bellevue who seized early momentum with a 7-3 lead to begin the match. Rocky would respond with six consecutive points, capped by a service ace from Kirra Ban to force a Bruin timeout. Another run from Rocky extended a lead as large as five before Bellevue responded to cut their deficit to just one point at 19-18. With both teams battling back and forth to a 23-23 tie, Amelia Kisiel spiked a kill and Bellevue sailed an attack attempt to give the Battlin' Bears a 25-23 first set win.

From then on, however, the 2024-25 NAIA National Championship runner-ups played to their pedigree, hitting over .300 % as a team through the final three sets to swipe a road win over the Battlin' Bears.

Rocky totaled four players with five or more kills, led by nine kills from both Amelia Kisiel and Olivia Fauth. Ella Kincaid contributed across the board with five kills, 16 assists, nine digs, two blocks, and a service ace. Zoey Albert led the team with 41 digs.

Savanna Berger tallied 15 kills and six blocks to lead the Bruins.
