Rocky Women’s Soccer’s Tournament Run Ends in the CCC Semifinals Against Top-Seeded College of Idaho

MEDFORD, Ore.- Fourth-seeded Rocky Women's Soccer fell in their semifinal matchup on Monday morning to the regular-season champions in the College of Idaho. 

The explosive Battlin' Bear offense was held without a goal for only the third time this season and the first time in over a month. 

How it Happened
College of Idaho put pressure on early, but the Battlin' Bears withstood the blows. With the Yotes putting six shots on frame, goal keeper Matea Vernon saved five of the attempts in the first half. The Yotes took a 1-0 lead with a 24th-minute goal, taking that lead into halftime. 

The nationally ranked College of Idaho broke the match open with three second-half goals, however, ending the Battlin' Bear run in the CCC Tournament Semifinals. 

Rocky was outshot in defeat 20-10, putting four of their shots on goal compared to College of Idaho's 10. Rocky was also held to just two corner kick opportunities, both coming in the second half. Charlize Davis tallied four shots to lead Rocky, two of which were on frame. Emma Lensing added three, and Georgia Dean totaled two. 

Matea Vernon totaled six saves in the loss.
