(RV) Rocky Men’s Basketball Falls to Carroll College 95-77

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky Men dropped their fourth straight contest, falling to a hot-shooting Carroll College group 95-77.

The Battlin' Bears controlled many aspects of the contest, outrebounding the Fighting Saints 37-25, including 18 offensive rebounds for the Battlin' Bears, and narrowly winning the turnover battle 11-12. Unfortunately, the lights-out shooting from Carroll College made the difference, shooting 54.4% from the field compared to Rocky's 39.2%.

How it Happened

Rocky faced an early deficit after the Fighting Saints hit their first five shots from the field to jump out to a 12-2 lead. The offensive production continued for the road team, totaling a 20-8 run later in the half to take their largest lead of the half at 17 with four minutes to play. The Battlin' Bears bounced back with a 12-4 run of their own, but the Saints would score the final four points of the half to take a 13-point lead into the locker room.

Carroll would all but seal the contest through the first 11 minutes of the second half, hitting eight of their first 12 shots from the field, including four threes, and converting 14-of-16 from the free throw line to take their largest lead of the game at 84-58 with 8:30 to play in the game. The Battlin' Bears showed no quit, but their deficit was ultimately too much to overcome at home.

Notable Statistics

Omari Nesbit led Rocky with 14 points on the afternoon in 20 minutes played. Royce Robinson added 11 points, as did Kade Erickson and Mekhi Jourdan off the bench.

Ten different Battlin' Bears entered the score column in the loss. Thirty-four of their 77 points came from the bench unit, and Rocky tallied 17 second-chance points.

Isaiah Moore poured on a game-high 26 points, 17 of which came in the first 15 minutes of play. Kellen Harrison totaled four made three-pointers and 14 points off the bench.
