Rocky Men and Women Sweep Alpine Events on Day Three of the USCSA National Championships

MOUNT BACHELOR, Ore.- Synne Kvinlog tallied her fourth career national title to highlight a Battlin' Bear effort that saw them secure victories in both slalom events, as well as the combined alpine. 

Women's Slalom Results 

Synne Kvinlog earned her second National Championship title in as many days, earning first place in the women's slalom with a total time of 1:32.89. Tuesday's Giant Slalom champion Eulalie Giraud followed up in second place, totaling her third All-American honor with a total time of 1:33.45, including the fastest run of the day at 46.21 seconds.

Two more Battlin' Bears earned Second Team All-American recognition, as Franziska Bonn finished seventh overall with a total time of 1:35.82 and Elisabeth Grimkelsrud finished 12th with a total time of 1:36.93, including the sixth fastest run on round two that helped her jump six spots in the standings.  

Klara Almqvist rounded out the Rocky competitors with a 19th-place finish, totaling a time of 1:39.28. 

Rocky's four All-American finishers helped lead them to a team title in the Women's Slalom, totaling a team time of 4:42.16, seven seconds ahead of runner-up Northern Michigan University. The title marks the third consecutive season the Battlin' Bears took home the Slalom championship. 

Women's Combined Alpine Results

After Rocky's sweep in the slalom and giant slalom, the Battlin' Bears earned a combined alpine title. Eulalie Giraud was the overall champion after taking first in the giant slalom and second in the slalom, totaling 4.40 race points. Synne Kvinlog followed in second with 25.63 race points after earning the slalom title and placing fourth in the giant slalom, both earning First Team All-American recognition. 

Elisabeth Grimkelsrud placed sixth overall with 67.60 race points after a seventh-place finish in the giant slalom and a 12th-place finish in the slalom, earning Second Team All-American honors. Klara Almqvist took 13th overall in the combined alpine with 105.95 race points following a 13th-place finish in the giant slalom and a 19th-place finish in the slalom, also earning Second Team All-American honors. 

Men's Slalom Results

Three Battlin' Bears earned top ten finishes in the men's slalom, led by the giant slalom champion Jules Clerice, who finished second overall with a total time of 1:24.33, including the fastest run on the second round, helping him jump five places overall. Fredrik Straume also earned First Team All-American honors after a fifth-place finish, totaling a time of 1:24.46. 

Aniol Torres also turned in a Second Team All-American finish, placing eighth overall with a total time of 1:25.51. Rounding out the Rocky competitors was Zachary Bion in 19th place with a total time of 1:28.58 and Caleb Unger placed 79th with a total time of 1:46.70. 

The Battlin' Bears earned another team victory, totaling their first slalom title since 2020, with a combined time of 4:14.30, finishing two seconds ahead of runner-up Babson College. 

Men's Combined Alpine Results

The Battlin' Bears ran the table in alpine, after wins in the giant slalom and slalom led Rocky to win their first combined alpine championship since 2020. 

After a championship in the giant slalom and a runner-up finish in the slalom, Jules Clerice placed second overall with 4.97 race points. Fredrik Straume earned a pair of top-five finishes in both events to also earn First Team All-American honors. Aniol Torres placed eighth in the combined alpine after eighth place finishes in both the giant slalom and slalom to be named Second Team All-American. 

 

Both genders competed in the Slope Style on Thursday, with results coming on Friday.
