Game Notes

Wrapping Up The Non-Division Schedule
The Battlin' Bears will play their second road game of the season on Saturday evening, traveling to Helena to take on the No. 18-ranked Fighting Saints. This matchup marks the final contest before Rocky's divisional opener next weekend against Valley City State.

Bear Raid
Rocky's passing attack continues to be a strong suit to open the season, as their 291.7 passing yards per game leads the Frontier East Division by a wide margin, outpassing every other divisional team by over 120 yards total. Despite missing the last five and a half quarters of action, quarterback Trent Nobach leads the division in passing yards per game (249.0).

Putting the Nation on Watch
Redshirt freshman Darius Haskin continues his early campaign as one of the top receiving threats in the NAIA, as he currently leads the NAIA in receiving yards per game (150.7), is tied for second in touchdowns (6), and third in total yards (452). Redshirt senior Eric Lira has been an excellent complementary piece to the passing attack, as he ranks 12th in the NAIA in receptions per game (6.7).

Scouting the Fighting Saints
Carroll College moved up seven spots in this week's NAIA Coaches Poll following a 35-7 victory over then No. 11-ranked Dickinson State. The Fighting Saints enter the weekend 2-1 with another win over MSU-Northern and a defeat to Montana Tech.

The East Division's top passing team, the Battlin' Bears, will get a test against the West Division's top passing defense, as Carroll College has held its opponents to just 119 yards passing per game. The Blue Hawks put up the most passing yards Carroll has allowed this season, a week ago, with 136.

University of Montana transfer quarterback Kaden Huot leads their offense, as he paces the Saints in passing (627) and rushing (163) yards. His favorite target this season has been tight end Carson Ochoa, who ranks third in the West Division this season in receptions (19) and total receiving yards (247).

Carroll's defense has been stout so far this season, giving up just 12.33 points per game and allowing just 202.3 total yards per game. They are led by the West Division's leading tackler, Braeden Orlandi. The Saints have six different players who have recorded two or more tackles for loss and five different players who have one or more sacks this season.
