Rocky Ski Performs Well on Their Home Course at the Lyon/Wolf Cup

RED LODGE, Mont.- Rocky Ski turned in strong performances on their home course over the weekend at Red Lodge Mountain. 

Saturday's Slalom Results

Aniol Torres earned the victory on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a top time in the second run of 41.67 seconds, totaling a time of 1:19.25. Jules Clerice (2nd place; 1.20.55), William Mjelde (3rd place; 1:20.81), and Aksel Stroemberg (4th place; 1:22.85) rounded out Rocky's sweep of the top four places. Nick Tibro also finished in the top ten overall, finishing in seventh with a total time of 1:25.54. 

On the women's side, Synne Kvinlog earned a runner-up finish in second place with a total time of 1:22.53, racing to the only sub-40-second run of the day in her second race. Jenny Sjotun followed in third place with a total time of 2:22.54. Three more Battlin' Bears earned top ten finishes, including Linnea Olesen (5th place; 1:24.18), Paige Heinz (8th place; 1:26.78), and Klara Almqvist (9th place; 1:27.35). Sara Akerstrom rounded out the Rocky competitors with a 14th-place finish, totaling a time of 1:28.99. 

Sunday's Slalom Results

Synne Kvinlog and Elisabeth Grimkelsrud highlighted Sunday's efforts, as Kvinlog won the competition with a total time of 1:25.08, with Grimkelsrud following as runner-up with a total time of 1:25.12. Four more Battlin' Bears finished in the top-ten overall to round out Rocky's Sunday competitors, including Linnea Olesen (5th place; 1:27.45), Klara Almqvist (6th place; 1:28.05), Sara Akerstrom (7th place; 1:29.26), and Courtney Bumpers (10th place; 1:30.83). 

The Rocky finishers swept the top five overall, led by an individual victory by Aniol Torres, totaling a time of 1:17.27, including the fastest run of the day in 36.27 seconds. Jules Clerice (2nd place; 1:18.03), Aksel Stremberg (3rd place; 1:18.04), Zachary Bion (4th place; 1:18.63), and Fredrik Straume (5th place; 1:19.27) rounded out Rocky's competitors on Sunday. 

Monday's Slalom Results

Synne Kvinlog and Elisabeth Grimkelsrud continued a strong weekend with a top-two finish, as Kvinlog earned another victory with a total time of 1:25.27, with Grimkelsrud following in second with a total time of 1:26.15. Klara Almqvist (5th place; 1:27.78), Jenny Sjotun (7th place; 1:30.07), and Courtney Bumpers (8th place; 1:31.00) rounded out the Rocky competitors. 

William Mjelde was the lone finisher for a lighter Battlin' Bear men's team that prepares for this weekend's NCAA competition, finishing in third place with a total time of 1:22.03.
