Rocky Women’s Soccer Topples No. 4-Ranked College of Idaho 2-0

CALDWELL, Idaho. - Behind a pair of second-half goals from senior Charlize Davis, Rocky Women's Soccer upended No. 4-ranked College of Idaho 2-0 on the road Saturday.

Rocky's win was significant on multiple fronts: it marked the program's first victory in Caldwell since 2017, snapped a six-game losing skid against the Yotes dating back to 2021, avenged last season's semifinal loss to College of Idaho, and stands as Rocky's first win over a top-25 opponent since 2014.

How it Happened

Both teams played to a tight stalemate through the opening 45 minutes. While College of Idaho held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks, the Battlin' Bears generated a slim 7-6 edge in shot attempts, resulting in a scoreless halftime draw.

Senior forward Charlize Davis came out relentless after the break, firing off four shot attempts in the first ten minutes of the second half. Davis provided all the offense Rocky needed during this stretch, striking back-to-back in the 52nd and 55th minutes. On both occasions, she blew past the Yotes' backline and finished from tight angles to find the back of the net. Backed by a third consecutive shutout performance, the victory propelled Rocky into first place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings.

Notable Statistics

Shot attempts finished tied at 13 apiece, with College of Idaho holding the advantage in shots on goal (7) and corner kicks (10). Goalkeeper Matea Vernon stood tall between the posts, stopping all seven shots on target to secure another clean sheet. After being held in check during the first half, Charlize Davis finished with a game-high six shot attempts, while Mia Daskalovska and Mya Maack each credited an assist.

Rocky's defense effectively neutralized the CCC's leading goal scorer, Abbi Roubidoux, limiting her to just two shot attempts and a single shot on goal.

Scoring Summary
