BILLINGS, Mont. - Goalkeeper Biruk Paulos-Negatu has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week following another strong performance in goal to extend Rocky Men's Soccer's winning streak to six.

A redshirt sophomore from Ethiopia, Paulos-Negatu registered seven total saves during Rocky's 2-0 road swing, highlighted by a crucial penalty kick save in the Battlin' Bears' victory over Eastern Oregon. Paulos-Negatu's lone goal conceded over the weekend came via another penalty kick. Having started all 11 games for the Battlin' Bears, Paulos-Negatu leads the CCC in goals-against average (0.46), allowing just three goals through seven conference matches. He also ranks second in save percentage (.844), while his five shutouts tie for the most in the conference this season.

This recognition marks the second weekly conference honor of Paulos-Negatu's career and his second of the season. He is one of three Battlin' Bears to earn CCC Player of the Week accolades this fall.

The Battlin' Bears return home to host the University of Providence on Thursday evening at Herb Klindt Field, looking to extend their lead atop the CCC standings.
