Omari Nesbit Becomes the First NAIA First Team All-American in Program History

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Senior Omari Nesbit was named an NAIA First Team All-American, the first in program history, following a historic season for Battlin' Bear Men's Basketball. 

Omari Nesbit, a senior from Sacramento, California, capped his senior season with a First Team All-American honor, becoming the first All-American for Rocky Men's Basketball since Jared Samuelson was named a Third Team All-American. 

Nesbit averaged 17.9 points per game, scoring double-figures in 30 of his 33 games played this season, including a career-high 31 points in Rocky's First Round win over Simpson University. He tied for the fourth-most points in a single season in program history with 592 points this season. In just two seasons with the Battlin' Bears, Nesbit totaled 932 points, ranking inside the top-15 in program history. His 85 made three-pointers ranked inside the top-25 in the NAIA this season and tied for the third-most in program history. 

The six-foot-one-inch guard made huge strides defensively during his senior season, averaging 1.48 steals per game, totaling the tenth-most steals in a single season in program history. The College of the Sequoias transfer had a litany of highlight moments in a Rocky uniform during the 2025-26 season, including an ESPN Top-10 buzzer-beating shot versus Montana Tech, combining to average 28.0 points per game in Rocky's First and Second Round matchups at home, and numerous late-game heroics that made the difference in Rocky's 31-4 overall record, including a 21 game winning streak. 

Nesbit was the lone Frontier Conference First Teamer and was one of three Frontier Conference student-athletes recognized on the All-American list.
