Rocky Women’s Golf Finishes 11th at the Roadrunner Spring Invite in Georgia

COHUTTA, Ga.- Rocky Women's Golf finished 11th overall in a competitive field in Georgia, among a field full of top-25 competition. 

Despite a disappointing finish to the tournament, Grace Metcalf was the top scorer for the Battlin' Bears, tying for 22nd overall at 18-over-par 234 (74, 72, 88). Her first two rounds were excellent, totaling a score of two-over-par 146 and sinking five birdies and 25 par rounds. The senior dominated par 5s in the tournament, totaling a score of 3-under-par, tied for the third-best average in the field. 

Tyla Potgieter followed tied for 51st overall, shooting 30-over-par 246 (79, 86, 81), while Catalina Garcia followed one stroke behind, tied for 54th overall with a total score of 31-over-par 247 (83, 81, 83). Kirsten Smith rounded out the Battlin' Bear scorers, tying for 65th place with a score of 36-over-par 252 (85, 81, 86), while Alivia Webinger rounded out Rocky's competitors in 74th place with a score of 48-over-par 264 (89, 83, 92). 

The Battlin' Bears totaled a team score of 112-over-par 976 (321, 317, 338), finishing top-ten in the field on par 3 scoring (9th; +30) and par 5 scoring (10th; +27). 

No. 2-ranked Dalton State, No. 4-ranked SCAD Savannah, and No. 7-ranked William Carey all finished in a three-way tie for the team title, totaling a team score of 37-over-par 901. SCAD-Atlanta's Holly Lau earned the individual victory after being the only player of the field to shoot under par in the final round.

The 18th-ranked Battlin' Bears play their final regular-season competition of the spring on April 13th, competing in the Music City Classic at Hermitage Golf Course in Tennessee.
