Rocky Women’s Golf Finishes 22nd Overall at the NAIA National Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich.- Battling through weather conditions throughout the week, the Rocky Women's Golf team saw its season come to a close on Thursday, finishing 22nd at the NAIA National Championships in Michigan. 

The Battlin' Bears posted a team score of 76-over-par 652 (319, 333) to conclude their time in the championship, missing the cut line for the third and final round on Friday. 

Senior Grace Metcalf rounded out her decorated Battlin' Bear career, shooting another eight-over-par 80, totaling a score of 16-over-par 160 (80, 80). Metcalf totaled ten holes of par in her final round and only scored one hole of double bogey or worse over her 36 holes of championship golf. 

Alivia Webinger turned in a consistent effort, tallying a total score of 19-over-par 163 (81, 82). The sophomore featured a stretch of seven straight pars on Thursday, as her 21 total pars led the team.  

Another senior concluded an excellent career at Rocky Mountain College, as Tyla Potgieter totaled an overall score of 22-over-par 166 (81, 85).

Catalina Garcia rounded out Rocky's scorers with an overall score of 24-over-par 168 (77, 91). Kirsten Smith finished with a total score of 27-over-par 171 (81, 90), tallying a team-high five birdies over two days. 

Under Frontier Conference Coach of the Year Nathan Bailey, the Battlin' Bears saw another successful season, securing their fifth straight conference title and totaling five team tournament wins this season.
