(RV) Rocky Men’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw Against Carroll College

HELENA, Mont.- Rocky Men's Soccer opened conference play on Thursday evening with a 1-1 tie against Carroll College. 

How it Happened
Neither side broke the stalemate in a defensive opening half, heading into the break scoreless despite a combined 13 shot attempts, with only three finding the frame.

Henry Chalkley provided the spark for the Battlin' Bears in the 57th minute, striking a 30-yard free kick past the Carroll goalkeeper to put Rocky ahead 1-0. The Fighting Saints responded with heavy pressure on Rocky's backline over the final half hour, generating seven shot attempts in their pursuit of an equalizer. Carroll's persistence paid off in the 82nd minute, netting the game-tying goal and forcing a 1-1 draw.
 
Notable Statistics
Rocky was narrowly outshot 15-13, with Carroll holding a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. The Saints' 15 attempts marked the highest single-game total allowed by the Battlin' Bears' defense this season. Rocky consistently pressured Carroll's end of the pitch, earning a season-high 12 corner kicks. 

Fynn Sweeting and Espoir Mayele led Rocky's offensive push, each recording three shot attempts.
